The description of the Valabhī temples corresponds to the well-known early relief representations in Sāñcī, etc., and also to the shape of the Bhīma Ratha in Mamallapuram. It is however not possible to ascertain whether the slope of the Valabhī of these temples was curvilinear as it is in the above reliefs, etc., or whether their slope was straight as it is in buildings of the Malabar coast.
