The transformation of house shapes into those of temples can be followed, specially in the third group. The temples are however not 'derived' from the shapes of houses; they are on the contrary employed for the purpose of the temple so that by looking at the temple man may be liberated from all his shortcomings and attain release (LXXXVII. 63).
