**Nose ornaments :** Studs and rings for the nose set with stones or pearls are great favourites in the present day, and were probably not unknown in former times. In the *Śāradā Tilaka*, mention is made of an Andhra lady “whose graceful ear is decorated by the scroll of gold ; whose nose-ring set with pearls trembles to her breath ; and over whose bosom spreads the saffron-dyed vest"¹⁰⁶; but no such ornaments have been met with in sculpture.
