v1.c6.71

The *Ekāmra* professes to be an *Upa*, or minor, *Purāṇa*, and opens, in the usual Purāṇic style, with an account of the primary and secondary creations, and then recounts in great detail a number of legends in connexion with the establishment of all the principal temples and sacred spots in Bhuvaneśvara. It is avowedly a Śaiva work, and advocates throughout the superiority of faith in the *Liṅgam* over all other forms of worship. It comprises six thousand verses, divided into two parts, and seventy sections.
