v1.c9.20
The moulding, which, for want of a better name, has been called a "quirked cyma-recta", is formed of the sections of two circles like the letter ˙S slanting towards the wall thus, ∽ and has its surface carved into a series of lotus petals, whence its distinctive name the "lotus moulding", *padmabandha*. Sometimes its surface is cut into the form of a check, or beaded, pattern.
