**Kalachandra's Cave:**—Retracing our course now to the spot where the steps divide into two branches, and proceeding to the left side, we come to a gallery of modern construction. To the south of the last at a distance of about 30 feet, there is another range of theee openings with two lines of pillars of which the inner line is broken. There are no sculptures in this range nor any ornament, but there is a Sanskrit inscription in the Nāgarī character of the twelfth century, which says the cave belonged to Ācārya Kalacandra and his pupil Vellacandra.
