"Seeing Śiva in this shape, Brahmā and the other gods were unable to pray unto him, their speech being affected with excess of joy: they were quite amazed to behold his form. That soul of the universe after this vanished from their presence and Brahmā, in company with the gods, having worshipped that effulgent Liṅga with various articles, ate the things offered to it. Thus filled with rapture, Brahmā then went to Satyaloka, and Viṣṇu and other gods returned to their respective homes.
