Behind this temple there is a tank lined with stones, and having a flight of steps on the west side. This is the repository of the waters of ten million sacred pools, and thousands of pilgrims bathe in it to wash off their accumulated sins. But religiously most holy as the waters are, physically it is of a dull, opaque, greenish colour, and full of confervæ.
