v2.c16.s6.32
The weapon pāśupatāstra is described in the Saivāgamas as a person thus:—The Pāśupatāstra should have four faces each with three eyes; it should have four arms and terrific faces with awful tusks, stiff hair and fierce moustache, all lending strongly the impression that it is a terrific aspect of Śiva. In the four hands should be the śakti, the mudgara, the śaṅkhā and the khaḍga. This image representing the Paśupatāstra should be seated upon a padmāsana.
