v4.c26.86
the front left hand carries a *kukkuṭa* and the back left hand embraces the peacock which stands to the left of Subrahmaṇya. There are on either side a goat-headed attendant of Subrahmaṇya; one of these must be Dakṣa-Prajāpati, who is said to be one of the *parivāra-devatās* of Subrahmaṇya. The figure on the left has its left arm crossed against its chest and keeps its right one as if going to close his mouth,—attitudes which show a great deal of reverence. The figure on the left of Subrahmaṇya has its left hand resting upon its hip and keeps something in its right hand. On either side of the figure of Subrahmaṇya and soring in the air are two Devas with their Devīs praising him. The central figure of Subrahmaṇya has an *yajñopavīta*, a *udarabandha* and a fine *hāra*; the ears are adorned with two different kinds of *kuṇḍalas* and the head is surmounted with a *karaṇḍa-makuṭa*, round which there is a *prabhā-maṇḍala*.
