In India the evolution of towns presupposes two fundamental factors namely; whether they evolved consciously or unconciously, what may be termed as Svatah-pravṛtta or Para-pravṛtta. It is only a broadway characterization, and represents two extremes which is more true in Modern India rather than in its forerunner.
