Pattana. It is a large commercial port, situated on the bank of a river or sea. It is frequented by traders from distant lands (divīpāntarāgata, deśāntarāgata) coming on commercial mission. Vaiśyas predominate the population and it is replete with jewels, wealth, silk prefumery and other articles.
