Śilparatna, another text of repute belonging to the Southern group of Śilpa manuals has also described certain weapons (Chap. 16. pp. 54-66; Pr. L. p. 45) like dhanuṣ, śara, ṭaṅka, mṛga, cakra, śamkha, damaru, kamaṇḍalu, padma and nāla—some of which, as remarked, are only improvised weapons.
