“Her body in girlhood was like an unfinished picture which when worked out with fine brush, attained the waken state as it were from the sleeping or blind state. The word ‘विभक्त’ here is important. It means the effect of light and shade; and this is given as one of the necessary good qualities of a picture in the Viṣṇudharmottara :
