Two great monolithic columns, the better preserved of which is 39 feet 5 inches long, excluding the detached abacus, lie at Sondaṇī or Songnī, near Mandasōr in Sindhia’s Dominions, and bear inscriptions recording the decisive defeat of the Huns by King Yasodharman about A. D. 528. Several specimens of good contemporary sculpture adjoin.
