The architecture and sculpture of the temple at Dārāsuram in the Tanjore District closely resemble those of the temple at Gangaikonda-Cholapuram, and must be of approximately the same age. The subject illustrated in Fig. 162 is labelled 'Rāvana's Penance' by the Archaeological Survey.
