The most beautiful example of *Kāshī* tile-work on a large scale is universally recognized to be the mosque built in 1634 at Lahore by the governor, Wazīr Khān. The building is a well-designed domed structure with four handsome minarets, constructed of small thin bricks. The exterior is panelled, the panels and minarets being veneered with *Kāshī* tile-work of great brilliancy, still in fairly good preservation. The minaret figured in Plate CVIII gives a good idea of the effect.
