¹ Dr. Coomaraswamy possesses a good picture of girls discharging fireworks, signed by Muhammad Afzal, with a Persian verse on the back, dated A.H. 1069 = A.D. 1658–9, commendatory of the painter. Another of his works is in volume xi of the Johnson Collection.
