² *Ann. Rep. A. S., Ceylon, 1904*, p. 2 (Sess. Paper LXVI of 1908). In *Ann. Rep. A. S., Ceylon, 1907*, p. 3, Mr. Bell notes the existence of six small circular brick shrines (*waṭa-geval*) at the Vessagiriya Monastery, Anurādhapura, besides one at the Abhayagiriya and one at the Toluvila. These seem to be different from the *waṭa-dā-gē* type described in the text.
