In contrast to the short slim figure of Irandatī, Vimalā has a matronly appearance, though the painter has not failed to endow her also with beauty of form. The expression of her face is very sweet, and to show her intimacy and dependence, she has placed her elbow on the arm of her husband. Both Irandatī and Vimalā have a *Nāga* hood above their heads as an emblem of their race.
