¹ In the Poona and Rithpur plates of Prabhāvatīguptā, *sarvarājochchhettā* is given as an epithet of Chandragupta II. These plates betray gross carelessness; for instance, they describe Chandragupta I and even Samudragupta as mere Mahārājas; we need not therefore conclude that the title *sarvarājochchhettā* was really used of any ruler other than Samudragupta merely on the strength of these Vākāṭaka records.
