The year consists of 12 lunar months of 30 and 29 days alternately, making altogether 354 days. The deficiency of eleven days less than the solar year, is made good by the addition of seven intercalary months in each cycle of 19 years, which are inserted in the 3rd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 19th years.
