453 A. Vīr. 980. Traditional date for the final revision of the Jaina Canon or *Siddhānta* by Devarddhigaṇin Kṣamāśramaṇa at the Council of Valabhī. Some MSS. of the *Kalpasūtra* give the date A.V. 993, and the commentators apply indiscriminately to either date both the Council of Valabhī and that of Mathurā at which Skandila seems to have revised the *Siddhānta*.—*Kalpasūtra* of Bhadrabāhu, ed.
