These pieces of copper, thin rectangular slabs about 1/8th of an inch thick, of a standard size, would appear to be pieces of money. As far as is known they are unique, nothing similar having been found in archaeological sites in other countries. On the reverse they bear animal designs similar to those on the seals. The writing is now difficult to read owing to corrosion. The fact that several of the inscriptions are identical suggests that they give the names and titles of rulers, of the issuing authority, or of the place of issue.
