Cf. (Pkt. inscr.) *naṁdi*, *nadi* (Lüders List:Nos. 463-466 and 284 respectively) < *nandin* (Skt.). Note the omission of the nasal *ṁ* and doubling of the following consonant. Cf. ***natti*** (**69.3**). See also ***-nanti*** (**116.4.b**) and ***-ṇanti*** (**115.3.b**) occurring as part of the personal names of Jaina monks.
