***kāṭa-*** (*kāṭṭa-*) is analysed as *kāṭu* (stem) + *a* (genitive suffix). The consonant *-ṭ-* is not doubled. Cf. LT *kaḷḷiyaṉ-kāṭṭa* 'of the spurge jungle' (*Aka.* 53:7, 97:1).
