**82.2** ***ātaṉ*** Read *ātaṉ* (N.) ***kōvātāṉ*** in the inscription is construed as *kō-v-ātāṉ* (-*ātaṉ*) 'King Ātaṉ'. The name *ātaṉ* is especially associated with the Cēra dynasty. See **80.1** for further comments. See also section 4.3.3.
