Stone was used for building at least the foundation courses of walls in most of the sites where architectural remains could be identified at all; in some of the Sind sites especially it is probable that the upper parts of the walls were of mud brick or pisée, and that a couple of courses of stones alone formed the foundations. But at Nundara, Kargushki-damb and Rodkan in Baluchistan coursed stone slabs set in mud mortar were used for the walls of houses at least up to window height, and at the latter site large blocks alternated with triple courses of small flat stones to give a decorative effect.
