The basic account of the Baluchistan pottery was that of Professor Childe in *Ancient Egypt*, 1933, summarized in *New Light on the Most Ancient East* (1934), Chap. IX, and based on first-hand study of the material in India as well as the original reports by Sir Aurel Stein (*An Archaeological Tour in Waziristan and North Baluchistan* (1929) and *An Archaeological Tour in Gedrosia* (1931)) and N. C. Majumdar (*Explorations in Sind* (1934)). My own studies in the light of more recent work, and a detailed re-examination of the original material, are summarized in *Ancient India* 1 (1946), 8–26; *ibid.*, no. 4 (1948), 26–40; *Antiquity*, XVII (1943), 169–182, and, in a more popular form, in *Some Ancient Cities of India* (1945), Chap. II.
