There remain a few scattered pieces of information to be brought together, not directly connected with the Harappā civilization and its end, but not without importance. A stray find from Kurram, in the North-West Frontier Province, is a curious type of flat copper axe with lateral lugs – the so-called ‘trunnion-celt’, that has a wide distribution in time and space in Europe, but which in Western Asia appears to be represented only by a specimen from Turang Tepe in Northern Persia and that from Kurram. The Turang Tèpe axe would be contemporary with Hissar III-Anau III, probably early in the second millennium B.C., and the Kurram find may again imply arrivals from the west at a somewhat later date.
