From the Caspian this movement of war-bands and migrating people can be traced as far eastwards as Anau in Russian Turkestan, where the third phase of the site's occupation shows clear traces of contact both with Hissar III and, less strongly, with Harappā. It is in this context of folk migrations around 2000 B.C., and the subsequent few centuries, that we can set the end of the Baluchi villages and the Harappā cities, but there is evidence that a second wave of conquest or colonization from the west left traces in Baluchistan nearly a thousand years later.
