Line A1: *[de]vadevasa*: Here, as in many other places in the inscription, the reading is uncertain due to the wear on the stone. The vowel signs in particular are often unclear, and the different editions vary slightly in their readings of several words. Line A1: *garuḍadhvaje*: Note the Sanskritized spelling here, as also in *putreṇa* (A.3) and elsewhere; see section 3.2.3.2. Line A3: *ta[khkha]silākena*: The second syllable was read as a single *kha* by Fleet and others. There is, however, a clear projection to the left at the middle of the letter, which is perhaps meant to indicate the unusual doubled aspirate consonant; I here follow Sircar’s reading, though the *akṣara* might also be interpreted as *kkha*.
