Bibliography

c15.1

This bibliography includes all books and monographs cited in this book that are primarily or significantly concerned with epigraphic and related matters. A selection of other important epigraphic works is also included, in the interests of presenting an overall summary of available materials. (Cf. "Note on Citation and Bibliographic Form," p. xxi). This bibliography is not, however, intended to be comprehensive, as such a compilation would go far beyond the limits of space available here.

c15.2

For the most part, journal articles and other nonindependent publications are not included, but some exceptions have been made for items of special significance.

c15.3

As far as possible, full bibliographic citation is given for each item. In certain cases, however, such as books which have had several editions or printings, only the principal publications are given. Recent reprint editions, mostly from India, of earlier publications are listed insofar as the data are readily available, but due to the difficulties of access and documentation for such publications the listings may not be complete.
