Several Sanskrit inscriptions in Śāradā script from the Ṣāhī period (eighth–ninth centuries) have also been found in Afghanistan.¹⁰⁸ Two such inscriptions from Laghmān have recently been published (*JESI* 12, 63–8), but the readings are uncertain due to their poor condition.
