The nalas east of Kandivli have cut through nearly two miles, almost the maximum stretch of rising ground or foot-hills. In the process have laid down a fairly thick deposit of pebbles, at times boulder gravels, which sometimes are intercalated by sands and clays, and capped by a thin deposit of humus.
