[The W. Gangas having been, up to about this time, dependents of the W. Chāḷukyas, it may be that Śrīpurusha assisted Chāḷukya Vikramāditya II in his raid on Kāñchi, and, by sending a force to Kampli, protected the Chāḷukya line of communications.]
