A.D. 753. In this year the Western Chālukya ascendancy collapsed. Dantidurga, prince of the Rāshtrakūṭa dynasty, son of Indra II and of a Chālukya princess, raised armies, swarmed over Chālukya territories, seized their capital, and afterwards proceeded to conquer the Pallavās. He was actually in occupation of Kāñchi some time after A.D. 754. (Ind. Ant. 1906, 228.)
