B.C. 43. [The King of Ceylon Vaṭṭagāmaṇi Abhaya was attacked in the fifth month of his reign by an army of Pāṇḍya Tamils, and was defeated. For fourteen years Ceylon was ruled over by five Tamils in succession who usurped the throne. The last of them was killed in 29 B.C. when Vaṭṭagāmaṇi-Abhaya regained the throne.]
