A.D. 899. Inscription in a Gaṅga chief in the Āsandināḍu tract, Kāḍūr District, Mysore. The date is somewhat doubtful, but apparently belongs to this year. It mentions a local chief who was supported by the Noḷamba ruler. At this time the Gaṅga and Noḷamba families were at enmity with one another, and a little later Noḷamba Mahendra was killed by Ereyappa, son of the Gaṅga Būtuga I who was now governing the Gaṅgavāḍi country. (E. C. vi. Kd. 141.)
