The ‘Noḷambavāḍi 32000’ province was one of the principal divisions of Central South India in early days. Others were the ‘Gaṅgavāḍi 96000’, and the ‘Baṇavāsi 12000’. Uchchangi-drūg, Henjeru and Chitaldrūg were the principal cities. The dominion of its rulers spread at times over the Bellary, Anantapur, Salem and part of North Arcot Districts, etc., and over the Bangalore and Kolar Districts of Mysore.
