On the decline of the power of the Imperial Guptas, especially in Western India, their erstwhile feudatories,⁵ the Maitrakas of Valabhī in Kathiawar, continued the use of the era, the earliest record of that family being the Bhamodra Mohota plates⁵ of Droṇasiṃha, dated in the year 183.⁶
