The combination of the three titles was not popular with the Pallavas who ruled further south contemporaneously with the Cālukyas and Rāṣṭrakūṭas, though sometimes they called themselves *Rājādhirāja Parameśvara*.⁷ Similar is the case with the Coḷas and Pāṇḍyas.⁸
