⁴ Sanskrit Antaḥpurādhyakṣa. The word vĕrgaḍĕ or vĕggaḍĕ is also found in the independent official designation as Pĕrgaḍĕ or Hĕggaḍĕ often given in Sanskrit as Adhikārin meaning a governor (Bomb. Gaz., Vol. I, Part ii, pp. 450, 485).
