² Select Inscriptions, pp. 437 ff. The order in respect of the Mayidavolu plates of Śivaskandavarman was issued to the Vyāpṛta who seems to have been the governor of the province of Andhrāpatha with his headquarters at Dhānyakaṭa (ibid., pp. 433 ff.). Like Yukta, Ayukta and Niyogin, Vyāpṛta essentially means ‘employed’ or ‘an employee’.
