The inscriptions of the Imperial Gaṅgas of Orissa mention the Vāṭi (Vāṭi or Vāṭikā), Māna (Māna) and Guṇṭha which are even now prevalent in that region.⁵ As at present times, 25 Guṇṭhas made one Māna, 20 of which made one Vāṭi also in the age of the Imperial Gaṅgas. A Māna is now regarded as equal to an acre, though its exact area in the medieval age cannot be determined.
