Thus this problem of the Aryans has come to the forefront and at the present stage of our knowledge it is impossible to give a final answer. Of all the three or four hypotheses (including Ramachandran's) the best from the archaeological point of view is that of the "Painted Grey Ware folk". Further discussion of this problem will be attempted, after a consideration of the other areas, in Appendix 'I'.
