The fifth phase belongs to the Kshatrapa, Gupta and Maitraka and is characterized by large quantities of Red Polished ware, Gupta and Maitraka coins (nearly 200 found in the first season) and can be provisionally dated to the period from 100 to 600 A.D. This sequence ties up with a number of other excavations—Amreli, Vasai, Amra, Lakhabawal in Saurashtra and Vadnagar, Baroda, Timbarva and Variav in Gujarat.³
