(1) The genealogies, specially in view of the small number of synchronisms are subject to doubt. Similarly the confusion of names; for example Pusalkar questions the identification of Sudas, son of Pijavana with Sudas of the *Dasarajna*. Raychowdhary identifies Parikshit of the Epic with Vedic Parikshit. The latter formula again, by the by, can cut the time lag.
