5 (pl. XVIIA). Seated alabaster male figure, 11½ ins. high. The arrangement of the clothing (which may have depended upon colour for detail) is not clear; it has been described as “a thin kilt-like garment fastened round the waist, partly covered by a shawl of thin material worn over the left shoulder and under the right arm”, but this is not certain. The left knee is raised and clasped by the left hand, which is crudely indicated. The head is missing; the back of the hair is unfinished, and is flanked by a rope-like pendant which may be hair or head-dress. As a whole, the modelling is poor. Found high up in the citadel building which produced no. 4 above.
