In brief, the Upper Pravara and possibly the Khandivli groups are for the moment the only industries in India for which an organically intermediate position can be claimed with reasonable probability between the Acheulian-Levalloisian groups of the late Middle Pleistocene and the evolved microlithic 'spread' to which we must now turn.
